FAQ on general topics
How may I complain to the FSM about an internet service?
You can find a complaint form on our web site. Through this form you may direct your complaint immediately to us. Furthermore, you can direct your complaint about an internet service directly via email to our office. Please note that complaints by telephone cannot be accepted.
How will my complaint be processed?
Our complaint office staff will start the preliminary proceedings. If it is necessary to transmit the matter to other institutions, this will happen anonymously. If your complaint is obviously reasonable, the provider will be contacted and asked for a statement or to take corrective actions. If the provider does not alter the respective content within a certain period of time and if he is a member of the FSM, the Board of Complaints will adjudicate on that internet service. The commission is able to issue various sanctions and penalties, e.g. an advice for remedy or reprehension.
How can I protect my child from impermissible internet services?
In order to protect your child from impermissible contents you should apply a special youth protection programme like the Internet Content Rating Association’s ICRAplus filter. This programme is free for both providers and users. Please find further information on www.icra.org
